Donation Information - donor name and contact details, donation amount and date, payment method and transaction details, and tax exemption preferences. Volunteer Information - skills and qualifications, availability, background verification documents, and volunteer activity records. Technical Information - IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, cookies and tracking data, and referring websites. Communication Data - emails, phone calls, messages, feedback, survey responses, and testimonials (with consent). We collect information directly from you, automatically through website usage, and from third parties where legally permitted.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for legitimate purposes: Program Delivery - enrolling and managing beneficiaries, assessing eligibility, tracking participation and outcomes, providing services, and communicating program updates. Donation Processing - processing and acknowledging donations, issuing tax certificates, maintaining donor records, reporting on fund utilization, and sending fundraising appeals (with consent). Volunteer Management - screening and onboarding volunteers, assigning roles, coordinating schedules, recognizing contributions, and maintaining records. Communications - responding to inquiries, sending newsletters and updates (with consent), sharing success stories and impact reports, notifying about events, and conducting surveys. Website Operations - maintaining and improving functionality, analyzing usage patterns, personalizing user experience, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring security. Legal and Compliance - complying with legal obligations, maintaining required records, responding to legal requests, protecting our rights, and preventing fraud. Research and Improvement - analyzing program effectiveness, conducting research, identifying community needs, developing new programs, and generating statistical reports (anonymized). We share personal information only when necessary: Service Providers - payment processors, IT service providers, email service providers, partner organizations, auditors and legal advisors, and contractors working on our behalf (all bound by confidentiality agreements). Government and Regulatory Bodies - Ministry of Corporate Affairs for statutory filings, NITI Aayog for NGO reporting, tax authorities for compliance, grant-making agencies for program reporting, and audit bodies as required. Legal Requirements - when required by law or court order, to protect rights or safety, to prevent or investigate fraud, to enforce our Terms, and in connection with legal proceedings. Business Transfers - in event of merger or acquisition, information may be transferred to successor organization with same protections. Organizational Security - restricted access on need-to-know basis, employee training on data protection, confidentiality agreements, documented security policies, regular security audits, and incident response procedures. Physical Security - secure access to servers and storage facilities, controlled office access, secure document disposal, and visitor management. While we implement robust security, no method is 100% secure. We commit to promptly addressing security incidents and notifying affected individuals as required by law. Information from Minors - for program beneficiaries under 18, we collect information through parents, guardians, schools, or authorized institutions. We collect only information necessary for program delivery and safeguarding. All information about minor beneficiaries is treated with heightened confidentiality. Parental Rights - parents and guardians can review information about their children, request correction or deletion, and withdraw consent. Parent Consent - we obtain explicit consent from parents/guardians before collecting information, photographing minors, or using images/testimonials involving minors. Safeguarding - we implement additional security for minor information, restrict access to authorized personnel only, and conduct background verification for staff working with children. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary: Retention Periods - Beneficiary Information: retained for program duration plus 7 years for evaluation; Donor Information: retained for 7 years from last donation for tax compliance; Volunteer Information: retained for engagement duration plus 3 years for reference; Financial Records: retained for 7-10 years as required under Indian law; Communication Records: retained for 2-3 years unless required for legal/operational purposes; Website Usage Data: retained for 12-24 months for analytics; Legal Documents: retained as long as legally required or until matters are resolved. Criteria - legal and regulatory requirements, tax and accounting obligations, operational necessity, contractual commitments, litigation needs, and historical value. Secure Deletion - when retention period expires, we securely delete or anonymize information using appropriate methods including overwriting electronic data, shredding physical documents, and removing identifying elements. Some information may be retained in anonymized form for research. Upon request, we will inform you of applicable retention periods. You may request earlier deletion subject to legal and operational constraints.

International Data Transfers

Our operations are primarily in India, and personal information is generally stored and processed within India. However: Service Providers - some technology service providers (email, cloud hosting, analytics) may store data on servers outside India. Volunteers and Donors - international volunteers and donors may access our systems from their locations, but data remains stored on servers in India or with compliant providers. EU and Other Jurisdictions - while we are an Indian organization primarily serving Indian communities, international donors or volunteers from EU or other jurisdictions with specific data protection laws maintain rights under those laws.
